I want to forward jobs to my workflow! How do I do this?
With the introduction of JobTickets, being able to automatically forward your jobs and their respective tickets to your workflow solution is an obvious requirement. Below are detailed instructions to enable you to do this and never have to give it a second thought.
To be able to forward to your workflow solution, the following will be required:
- An addressbook entry.
- A mailbox.
If you don't already have one, create an addressbook entry:
- Log into the StingRay's internal web interface as an administrator.
- Navigate to Address book.
- Click New.
Here, all that's required is a name for the user/company uploading the files, and incoming settings to be configured giving the user/company permissions to upload.
- Give the addressbook entry a name that you'll recognise - perhaps the name of the person or company uploading files.
- Skip Outgoing Settings.
- Enable Incoming settings - Check the box for "Enable incoming transmissions".
- Please provide a unique username and password. This will be required for the user/company who wishes to send the jobs to be forwarded to your workflow.
- Skip Settings for Data Server Access.
- Under Receiver Assignment, please move FTP over to the right.
- Click Save.
Next, create a mailbox:
- Navigate to Mailboxes / Forwarding.
- Click New.
- Provide this mailbox with a unique name for internal reference.
- Under "Job forwarding to server" check "Forwarding activated".
- Change "Protocol" to FTP.
- For "Server" enter your workflow host or IP - the IP you use to access the workflow.
- For "Username" use the username of a user with FTP access to the workflow directory.
- For "Password", enter the password of a user with FTP access to the workflow directory.
- For "Path" Enter the exact path of the workflow directory.
- Under "Address configuration for this mailbox" move the new user account you created to the right.
- Skip Local user configuration for this mailbox
- Click Save.
You're done!
Now, send in a test job with the user account you created via the External Web Interface. It will, in this order:
- Show in Incoming Jobs
- Show as "Forwarded successfully" in Incoming Jobs
- Show in Outgoing Jobs
- Send the files and job ticket to the workflow directory/hotfolder you configured.
If you require any assistance, please contact support.
