How do I use images in email notifications?
As of StingRay Firmware version 3.0.3, you now have the ability to add images and any other HTML to the Hyperlink Job email signature. Previously, when you sent a Hyperlink Job you would have seen the following email:
Hello
The following file(s) are available for download until 19/09/2011 11:13:02.
Click on the hyperlink(s) to download the file to your computer.
file.ext
6.71 Kb
This email was sent using StingRay FTS - the complete file transfer server.
With the new feature, you're now able to create a signature that includes an image or any other HTML as below:
Hello
The following file(s) are available for download until 19/09/2011 11:13:02.
Click on the hyperlink(s) to download the file to your computer.
file.ext
6.71 Kb

By default, for new and updated StingRays, all Hyperlink Job emails will use the first template shown above. If you would like to add your own logo or any other HTML, do the following:
- Log into the StingRay Internal Interface as an Administrator
- Navigate to Notification Setup
- Click Edit
- Click the Pencil icon next to the External checkbox for Custom Hyperlink Signature
From here, you will be greeted with a screen showing two text boxes full of shortcodes for different variables displayed in emails sent out by the StingRay. The newest shortcode added is <?HTML?>.
- Select an area in the upper or lower part of the email (either above or below the link).
- Click the <?HTML?> shortcode.
- Move it to the text area. You can now input any HTML between these shortcodes.
Note: To make sure images are always displayed (especially in clients such as Outlook), Images embedded between the <?HTML?> shortcode should use the following format - <img src=3D"image.jpg">. Excluding "3D" will cause the image to appear broken in some email clients.
Provided below is a template that allows you to replicate the email template shown above with a logo and link to a website. Please remove all text from the lower text area, paste the below template in and edit the bold sections below to reflect your own logo and website. When you're finished, click save.
This email was sent using <?HTML?><a href="http://site.com"><img src=3D"http://logo.png"></a><?/HTML?> - the complete file transfer server.
Note: Logos must be hosted. There is currently no upload feature.
