StingRay Client

What are the differences between StingRay clients, and which one can I use?
There are three widely used versions of our StingRay client;
Version 3.0 for Mac OS 10.5 and above.
Version 1.2.1 for Mac OS 10.4 and below.
Version 1.2.0.8 for Windows XP and above.
In version 3.0, we fully integrated the StingRay Client into Mac OS 10.5 and above. No more Rosetta!
In addition, version 3 uses Quicksend. This feature enables you to send a job directly to any email address without having to create an addressbook entry beforehand. This feature works with StingRay firmware version 2.6.0 and above only.
If you’re using an older version of the StingRay client you can still create hyperlink sendjobs. All you need to do is create an addressbook entry using the StingRay’s web interface before sending a job to your recipient.
In order for you to be able to use the StingRay Client, you must first purchase the appropriate license for the Client version you wish to use. As long as you maintain the most up to date Mac OS and StingRay firmware, you will be able to use any new features we publish.
To see which version of the StingRay client you can use based on the Licenses you have, you can log into the StingRay’s internal web interface as an administrator and navigate to Client Licenses.

As you can see with the example above, there are two types of StingRay Client license:
Leonardo Internet Express - This is for the Mac OS of 10.4 and below running StingRay Client version 1.2.1
- This is for Windows (all versions) running 1.2.0.8
StingRay Client - This is for Mac OS version 10.5 and above running StingRay Client version 3.0 and above.
Assigning a license to your StingRay Client is as simple as signing into your local user account within the StingRay Client on your computer. Unassigning a license is also very easy, simply log into the StingRay’s internal interface and click the red button next to the license located in Client Licenses. It will then free up the license to be used by anyone else who may require it..
Red - A license has been assigned to a device and is not available.
Green - A license is available and ready to be used.
If you require any further information pertaining to the StingRay Client software or the licenses used with the client, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
