Current StingRay firmware:
3.0.3

New features in StingRay Version 3.0.3
  • Full HTML support in Hyperlink Job emails. Hyperlink Job emails now support full HTML and allow far more flexibility in terms of what your customers see when they receive a Hyperlink Job (also applies to Quick Send Jobs). If you're interested in adding your own logo to the footer of the email or perhaps something more adventurous, click here to find out more.
  • SMB support for forwarding jobs. SMB is now a supported protocol for forwarding jobs from the StingRay to an internal server. This is a major feature release for 3.0.3 and is the perfect alternative for those who cannot use the FTP or AFP protocols. For more information on SMB, please click here.
Previous features released in StingRay Version 3.0.2
  • As of version 3.0.2 you now have the ability to create QuickSend Jobs through the StingRay SDK. This allows you to interact directly with the StingRay via any 3rd party program that will support it. If you're interested in knowing more about the StingRay SDK and how to obtain a license, please contact support.

Before upgrading
Before upgrading to version 3.0.0 or above, you need to make sure you are running at the very least version 2.6.3. An attempted upgrade from any older version will fail. For more information it is strongly advised you read Upgrading to StingRay Version 3.0.x. To upgrade from 2.6.3 you will need a license, if you need to install a license, click here. Along with a license, you should always remember to run a backup before updating! If you require assistance installing, upgrading or backing up your system, please contact support. If you would like a remote support session, we'll need either SSH or Teamviewer set up and ready to connect to. Click here to view the instructions for setting up either of these options.

StingRay Features
Regular Expressions:  If you're looking for a way to control the information supplied to you through your Job Tickets you can use Regular Expressions. The idea behind Regular Expressions is to allow your end users to input only the information you require. Using regex snippets, you can do anything from qualifying an email address to limiting input to a few characters. We've written a few FAQs to get you started, these can be found here.

The SDK: If you're wanting to interact with the StingRay's ability to send QuickSend Jobs using a third party application, you can take advantage of our new SDK module. Interacting with our SDK module allows the automated sending of jobs triggered from within any supported application you're running. The SDK module allows the StingRay to handle the sending of files much larger than that of which you'd generally be able to transfer via email. For more information about the SDK module, click here.

Customising your StingRay
The logo: As with previous StingRay versions, you can upload your logo.
For best results for displaying your logo, please follow the guidelines written here: How do I upload my own logo?

Hyperlink Emails: Are plain-text emails too basic for you? If you're a dab-hand with HTML, why not customise the emails StingRay sends out when you send a Hyperlink or Quick Send Job? After updating to 3.0.3, your StingRay supports full HTML using our built-in HTML tags. Now you can add your logo, banners and much more. We've put together a FAQ to get you started with a basic logo template. You can find that here.

The Web Interface: If blue isn't your colour, it's no problem. Our easy to customise interface means you can choose a theme to suit you. If you're interested in changing the colours of your interface, please take a look at Changing the colours in the External Web Interface. Additionally, if you'd also like to change the colour of the Logout button, take a look at Changing the colour of the Logout button

If the thought of editing CSS is a little daunting, we have created a number of standard templates in a range of colours which may suit your taste. The FAQ below shows a preview of the template as it'll look on your StingRay, and a download link for the CSS you can then import into the StingRay. When you're ready to import the CSS file, please take a look at How do I Import a CSS file into the StingRay?
